Job Title: QC GRE Inspector

https://youtu.be/XdimKojvZlg Job Purpose:The QC GRE Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of GRE (Glass Reinforced Epoxy) piping systems, fittings, and associated installations in accordance with ADNOC, international standards (ISO, ASTM, ASME, API), and project specifications. The inspector will monitor fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Material Inspection:- Verify GRE pipes, fittings, and raw materials (resins, fibers, additives) against approved specifications (e.g., ASTM D2996, ASTM D2997, ISO 14692).
- Check Material Test Certificates (MTC), Mill Test Reports (MTR), and ensure proper storage/handling.
Fabrication & Manufacturing Inspection:- Monitor GRE pipe manufacturing processes (filament winding, hand lay-up, etc.) for compliance with approved procedures.
- Inspect jointing methods (butt-and-wrap, adhesive bonding, mechanical joints) as per project standards.
Installation & Welding Inspection (if applicable):- Oversee GRE piping installation, alignment, and support to prevent stress and damage.
- Ensure proper surface preparation, bonding, and curing of GRE components.
Testing & Commissioning:- Witness hydrostatic testing, leak testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
- Verify GRE system pressure ratings and mechanical properties post-installation.
Documentation & Reporting:- Maintain inspection records (ITPs, checklists, reports) and ensure compliance with ADNOC procedures.
- Report non-conformities (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
Compliance & Standards:- Ensure adherence to ADNOC VAP (Vendor Approval Program), ADNOC COP, and relevant ISO/API standards.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (TPI) and client representatives.
Qualifications & Experience:- Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications:
- CSWIP, ASNT Level II (for NDT) is a plus.
- ADNOC-approved certification is preferred.
Experience:- Minimum 5+ years in QC inspection of GRE piping systems in oil & gas (onshore/offshore).
- Familiarity with ADNOC, Shell, or other major oil & gas standards.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of GRE pipe manufacturing, installation, and testing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
