Job Summary:
The CP Superintendent will oversee the execution of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems for pipelines, tanks, and other critical infrastructure in a long-term ADNOC project. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes (e.g., NACE, ISO), and project specifications while managing contractors, inspections, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Execution & Supervision:
  • Supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of CP systems (Impressed Current & Sacrificial Anodes).
  • Ensure adherence to ADNOC CoPs, NACE SP0169, ISO 15589, and other relevant standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and work permits.
2. Technical Oversight:
  • Verify CP system design (e.g., anode placement, rectifier settings) and troubleshoot issues.
  • Oversee surveys (close-interval potential surveys, DCVG, AC interference) and interpret data.
  • Ensure proper bonding, insulation, and grounding of CP systems.
3. Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with HSE regulations (ADNOC HSE Code of Practice).
  • Ensure non-conformities are resolved and corrective actions implemented.
  • Promote a "zero-incident" culture and enforce PPE/PTW requirements.
4. Coordination & Reporting:
  • Liaise with ADNOC stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.
  • Provide daily/weekly progress reports, including KPIs and risks.
  • Maintain records of CP system performance, repairs, and maintenance.
5. Team Leadership:
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications: NACE CP Level 3 or 4 (mandatory).
Experience:
  • Minimum 12+ years in CP systems in oil & gas projects.
  • Hands-on experience with ADNOC, Shell, or similar major operators.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in CP design software (e.g., CPDES, ETAP).
  • Strong knowledge of relevant standards (NACE, ISO, API).
  • Familiarity with ADNOC E&P standards and procedures.
