Job Summary
The Instrument Supervisor will oversee the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems for a long-term ADNOC project in the UAE. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC standards, safety regulations, and project specifications while coordinating with engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure efficient and reliable operation of all instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise the installation, testing, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems (e.g., flow meters, pressure gauges, control valves, transmitters, DCS, PLCs, SCADA).
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of instrumentation activities.
• Ensure all work complies with ADNOC standards, international codes (e.g., ISA, IEC, API), and project specifications.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation systems to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve complex instrumentation and control system issues.
• Review and approve maintenance reports, calibration records, and inspection logs.

3. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all instrumentation work adheres to HSE policies and ADNOC safety procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment.
• Participate in safety audits and incident investigations related to instrumentation failures.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of instrumentation activities, including calibration certificates, loop checks, and as-built drawings.
• Prepare daily progress reports and submit to the Instrumentation Engineer/Project Manager.
• Ensure proper handover documentation for completed systems.

5. Team Management & Training

• Supervise and mentor a team of instrument technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Conduct on-the-job training to enhance team competency in new technologies and ADNOC standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in instrumentation supervision, preferably in oil & gas.
• Certifications:
• ADNOC-approved certifications (e.g., COMPEX, ATEX, IECEx) are advantageous.
• Knowledge of SIL (Safety Integrity Level) and Hazardous Area Classification.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in DCS, PLC, SCADA, and field instrumentation.
• Familiar with SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) and MAXIMO.
• Strong understanding of loop testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Key Competencies

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrumentation datasheets.
• Problem-solving skills for complex control system issues.
• Knowledge of Intrinsic Safety (IS) systems and hazardous area compliance.
