Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Engineering Deputy Department Manager to support the Engineering Department Manager in overseeing all engineering activities for a major oilfield construction project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multidisciplinary engineering, project coordination, and quality assurance, with a clear understanding of ARAMCO standards and processes. ARAMCO-approved candidates are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Engineering Department Manager in managing all engineering functions, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Coordinate with project management, procurement, construction, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements and milestones are met.
- Ensure compliance with ARAMCO standards, project specifications, and relevant international codes.
- Review and approve technical documents such as design drawings, calculation reports, method statements, and construction work packages.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the engineering team.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and constructability reviews.
- Support in preparing and maintaining engineering schedules, progress reports, and deliverables tracking.
- Act as a liaison with the client (ARAMCO), vendors, and third-party consultants.
- Ensure all engineering work aligns with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and change requests from construction teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field). Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or petrochemical EPC projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Must be ARAMCO-approved or have held a similar ARAMCO-accepted position.
- Deep understanding of ARAMCO engineering standards and project delivery processes.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale oilfield construction projects.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, STAAD, ETAP, etc.) and project management tools (Primavera, MS Project).
- Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield construction projects.
- Knowledge of local regulations and working practices in KSA.
