Key Responsibilities
Bus Bar Fabrication and Fitting:
- Fabricate and install copper/aluminum bus bars according to drawings and technical specifications.
- Cut, bend, drill, and shape bus bars using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and secure fitting of bus bars in panel boards and enclosures.
- Perform checks for defects such as misalignment, cracks, or weak joints.
- Follow electrical safety protocols and adhere to UAE regulations for panel and bus bar assembly.
- Ensure proper insulation and support for bus bars to prevent electrical hazards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accurate fabrication and installation.
- Conduct repairs or replacements of faulty bus bars when needed.
- Maintain tools, machinery, and workspaces in good condition.
- Work alongside engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to meet deadlines.
- Report progress, issues, and completed work to team leads.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Bus Bar Fitter in a similar environment.
- Expertise in fabricating and installing copper and aluminum bus bars.
- Proficient with tools such as bus bar bending machines, punches, drills, and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of bus bar insulation, connections, and related components.
- Knowledge of UAE electrical codes and standards.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work overtime or on-call shifts when necessary.
